Sleepless in Seattle - (Who was your favorite cartoon character as a kid)

Ok, not really in Seattle, so its only half true. What to do? What to do? Oh, I know. I’ll open a pointless topic and try to come up with a way to draw people in!

So what shall we discuss?

Delusions? No, old hat.

Medications? No, boring.

Change the name of schizophrenia? Nah, been done.

Who’s your Favorite Mod? No, that would never work.

How about who was your favorite cartoon character as a kid? Thats a less common topic. Lets do it!

We didn’t get tv till I was like 4 or so and it was black and white. Still my favourite was George Jetson. Life looked fun in space to me which is probably a sign of my age and sci fi nerdery.

Oh wow so many to choose from.

I always thought Shaggy and Scooby from Scooby Doo were cool and funny.

I think my favorite though was probably He-Man.

I always preferred Looney Tunes to Disney cartoons as a kid.

Donald is no match for Daffy…but no one personifies Looney Tunes like good old bugs bunny

Yeah, the Warners Brothers cartoons are classics.

There’s a pretty rad cartoon show that comes on MeTV really early in the mornings on weekdays, like around 6 or 7am I think. And the host of the show plays all kinds of cool vintage cartoons.

If I’m ever awake I try and catch it, but I’m typically asleep at that timeframe.

That said,

For years and years I misunderstood why John K (the show’s creator) was fired from Nickelodeon.

They always said they had creative differences and that he made a particular banned episode to piss them off and lost his job.

Ends up he was actually into young girls.

Like really young girls.

Kid of ruins it.

In a way I wish I didn’t know so I could just be in love with Ren and Stimpy.

Fact is I was already super disappointed when they had an adult reboot in the late 90s? Maybe early 00s.

It was nasty.

I watched about half of one episode and it was too raunchy for even me.

All that aside,

That show,

The first season,

Is GOLD.

Meant to say “kind of ruins it”.

I’m sure you all could have figured that out.
