We are currently experiencing an elevated level of false signups from AI-powered bots, with a large majority using VPN services. For this reason, the site security is now disabling logins from VPN addresses. If you use a VPN service, you may have difficulty logging in. If that happens, you can simply disable the VPN, and you should be able to log in again.
Sometimes I wish Dead Internet Theory were true, but people here post selfies so that’s proof enough that they are living, breathing human beings!
I hate to complain, but basically every major program I use is doing this same thing. Nobody told me that when I was signing up for a VPN to circumvent recent laws that invade my privacy. So basically I just leave it off 90% of the time unless I’m specifically using it for the purpose I need it for.
Even BattleNet shuts down if you sign in from a VPN, so it kicks you out of World of Warcraft. That alone means it’s almost always off. I’m glad I didn’t pay too much for it. I just got it for privacy purposes.
It would be nice if the site could detect that they were non human and deny them based on that but I understand you gotta do what you can.

Well darn, there goes my plans to flood the site with @anon82948922 clones . No slutterbug , butterbug, nutterbug, huggerbug, betterbug, wetterbug or any of my other of my pre named vpn accounts.
Foiled again.

It’s scary. You wonder what comes next. Hope the site can stay one step ahead though.
It’s not scary. Just annoying for the mod team. This significantly reduces the amount of time we have to spend clearing bots and increases the time we can spend on fun things instead.

I was suspended for supposedly using a VPN, but I don’t have or use a VPN… Is there a way you can prevent this error from happening again?
