Should I take a leave of absence

From work? I feel I cant function and I’ve been missing work anyway. Problem is I am still new to the job So I don’t know how they would handle that.

If you feel you can’t cope with the work at the moment, then you know yourself best. It’s better to remove yourself before you get unwell…

If it was me i would tell them that i have an illness and that i need time off for that. If they require a doctors note or proof then thats fine. I think that shop is popular and socially conscious enough that they would have a good policy on issues like mental health. I know theres someone whos gonna respond “oh well we shouldnt have to do that blah blah”, and i never said its required but its the professional thing to do. We shouldnt have to hide our illness or be embarrassed any more than if you had a diseased liver or something. A doctors note that says " _____ is unable to attend work due to serious illness" should be sufficient.

And you’re still not going to take your medication?

I took it. Kinda snapped out of my denial

That’s good! It seemed like you were going downhill.

I was heading for rock bottom

I’ve taken two leaves when I worked at the call center for AT&T.

No matter how long I was gone they were never enough.

If you do and are able to take a leave don’t make my mistake and come back to quickly as long as finances allow.
