So what does it matter to you? You have different illnesses and symptoms.
First thing donât quit meds without your doctor knowing 2nd comparing your life too others is not helpful and lastly again talk to your doctor meds that work for me might not work for you
Youâre stable enough to make your own decisions right now. Just remember that you are the one that will have to live with the consequences of your choices. And I think there will be consequences.
My dr is willing to stop my meds as I complain too much to him about not being able to work due to negative symptoms
Untreated psychosis is bad for the brain and causes more negative symptoms I know that manic psychosis feels good but so does illegal drugs and there not good for you either and mania you will make bad decisions as if you were actually on drugs my therapist told me he had a client who said mania felt better than cocaine and that the client said he made worse decisions while manic
And Iâm not trying to glorify mania itâs dangerous very dangerous
I think youâre setting yourself up for a one way ticket to the psych ward.
I know that if I go off meds and take Adderall my negative symptoms will be cured
I mean maybe the experiment is worth it if your gp is ok with it
You could end up in the hospital though
First psychosis I went to hospital by myself. Second one I was off meds for 2yrs at the end I was crying for no reason so my parents called an ambulance. Idk if crying is sz or bipolar
But what about the positive symptoms are you thinking about that also even if your
right about mania the depression and possibly mixed episodes are dangerous and Iâm just gonna flat out say it if you become depressed or have s mixed episode you could end up killing yourself itâs the gods honest truth it might be inappropriate but itâs a fact
Do you cry with sza?
No. It never ends well for me personally. I get suicidally low and anxious and paranoid. Even just going to buy groceries becomes a mission.
I get depressed for months and have lots and lots of crying spells thatâs when un medicated I donât have much experience with being in medicated I take meds everyday
Another thing to keep in mind is weâre 2 different people but If I was you Iâd take my meds seriously the hospital is not the place you wanna be and you will probably make a scene and end up in full lockdown
I donât think u should. Youâll most likely get psychotic and who knows what could happen, even if itâs just terrible trauma, psychologically
Plus itâs maybe possible it will mess with your treatment if you relapse
Short: no, of course not.
Longer: no. You just tried that. It didnât go well. It is no use trying again now. Nothing changed in the meanwhile. The order is you first stabilize, do therapy and build a good life. Then - maybe & slowly & carefully - you can try again.
Not judging. Everyone would prefer to be off meds.
Sounds like youâve never been successful going off meds and thatâs probably not going to change.
Some people are successful going off meds but nobody knows why they became psychotic in the first place. They have sz diagnosis but might not have schizophrenia actually.
You have to look at all the evidence from your experiences and decide if you have schizophrenia or not. If you do then going off aps will make your psychosis worse than ever.
I tried and failed. The aps gave me new symptoms. I will probably take breaks from meds throughout my life however long that is, but Iâm never going to be off them completely.
