I took her in so she wouldn’t go to a shelter, I would’ve given her to a friend. You all have convinced me that that would do more harm than good though. I’m glad you did.
Update: I called the vet and they don’t have an opening to see her for another few days. I have a vet friend who told me I’ve been using the wrong brush this entire time though and that I can remove the tangles with a fine tooth comb. I just needed to hold it away from her skin. I guess she only had a couple areas with actual “matting”. Everything else was just her undercoat caught in her protective bristle hairs. Anyways she is brushed out and ready for her appointment at the vets.
Sorry for being dramatic. I didn’t realize that she wasn’t as bad off as I thought. Thanks for being there for me everyone💜
Anyone have any tips for bad breath in cats???
Your cat probably has an UTI and is why it might be going out side the box. I am wondering if maybe you could put out a second box? It may help.
Your cat is older and is thin. It could be an illness(if unvaccinated?). However, many older female cats have hyperthyroid. Finding out if your cat has a hyperthyroid is a blood test. If it comes back out of range, then they will treat her for that.
Hope she feels better soon.
Love this idea but I’d probably get mauled
She is up to date on her vaccines. I’ll purchase another box for her although she not showing any signs of UTI, due to her past with them I will ask them to test her for it as well as do her blood work. Thank you for the help.
You could try greenies dental treats for cats.
Yes! I’ve heard good reviews on these.
You might want to have the vet check her teeth. Sometimes extremely stinky breath can be due to a tooth or gum infection. Also the vet can recommend something for dental hygiene.
I’ve asked them to do a full check up on her.
You’re a very good cat caretaker. Your cat is lucky to have you.
Update: Kitty passed away tonight.
I’m very sorry for your loss, Bittercat.
Thank you @Coldcomfort
I’m sorry @Bittercat you took good care of kitty.
Im sure she appreciated it.
I’m so sorry. She knew that you loved her, and she loved you, too. You did everything you could to help her.
Oh, I’m so sorry @Bittercat.
Thank you everyone for being so kind.
Do you need anything right now? Losing a pet is extremely difficult, and you should reach out for support if you need it.
I’ve asked to see my T twice a week. But mostly I still stay alone. My boyfriend has been in touch since, we went out for dinner though I couldn’t eat much. I’ve been sitting in my driveway for 20 minutes now because I don’t want to walk into my empty house. God I miss her so much.
