Hi, I am still using Samsung S7 edge which is now 4 years old. It’s battery is horrible now, 100% drops down after 2 hours of on screen use. It also have few dead pixels on the side of the screen. It also is not receiving any security updates and stuck to android 8.0 . But I am used to the size of the screen and is still bright and sturdy. Battery change will probably cost around 50€ and if I would buy a phone it would a Samsung A71 or Samsung S10. Next month will be when I’ll be employed for 3 months so that means I am starting to get stable income and I don’t have anything taken with direct debit. So what do you think?

I tihnk you should buy a new phone. Security updates are important. And you’ll get used to a new phone after a little while

Is your battery easily replaceable?
S7 is not that old, are you satisfied with its speed?
You can hack it and install custom ROM with newest Android 10 updates, it will be faster also than Samsung software.

It would need to be brought to repair centre to replace the battery. Had anyone used Xiaomi and Samsung? Samsung is a trusty company, but Xiaomi price is attractive

I had Xiaomi its good. Pocophone F1 6Gb RAM Snapdragon 845 is <300$.

I bought Umdigi power 3 6150mah battery, its a beast.

How much will it cost to replace the battery?

Probably like 50€. I was tempted to buy Xiaomi redmi note 8 pro or if I feel brave maybe 10 pro. However Samsung hasn’t given me almost any problems which is battery, which every phone suffers from

I use this website to see specs and phone reviews, you can see battery endurance at the bottom:

https://m.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_redmi_note_8_pro-9812.php

Note 8 pro has very good battery, Endurance rating 114h, S7 is 80h new.

I feel that Xiaomi is new OnePlus nowadays somehow… I almost don’t game on a phone I just spend a lot of time surfing and watching videos, so I need a good bright and colourful screen, which Samsung does deliver

Yea OLED is brighter and better. I have a spare Pixel 2 XL and its screen is even better than my S9, its P-OLED. I also like Google stock android in Pixels better, its faster and less cluttered, no junk apps.

I don’t know if Xiaomi have OLED but they will have for sure:

So on paper Xiaomi goods and price tag is sweet, but in afraid that during the summer I won’t be able to see the screen with my sunglasses

Get OLED then. In my experience, Google Pixels are the best. Best hardware coupled with best software and best camera.

But OLED is premium and much more expensive.

Get an iPhone SE - the new phone.
They are powerful inexpensive little phones.

I replaced my iPhone 6s battery amd after a few months the new battery was also fried. The phone just couldn’t handle the latest update anymore.

I have the LG thinq G8 now and I quite like it.

I still have my G2, its the phone that lasted me the most. I bought it full price before it was even released in Canada from a guy who brought it from the US.

My LG G5 broke vert fast so I stopped buying LG.
