Have you worked recently? Are you used to working? When I see people who haven’t worked in years suddenly jump into full time it seems like a lot to handle for them.
@77nick77 Yes I have training experience in office work for 6 months and to be honest it was difficult working full time. But this is the only opportunity I got in 7 months of not working and trying to find a job.
I tried to search for work for special needs through agencies but I found it difficult to find a job with these agencies as most companies contracted with these agencies do not prefer recruiting the mentally ill.
So I am forced to work normal jobs now although its really difficult for me due to negative symptoms and sleepiness during work.
@77nick77 Do you think its better to wait till I find a suitable job is better or just trying my best in any job ? As I think I cant last long in this job but as I said If I dont try I risk being not working for years
I am not sure how working a job or multiple jobs and quitting will affect my CV ? Is it better to work now or not work and wait untill I find the best possible oppurtunity with low hours and better accommodation which I think will not happen soon?
I think you should wait. My previous pdoc pushed me to try full time right away after four years of full disability. I relapsed four months later and have only just recently found the right med cocktail to get me back out of it - two and a half years later.
Still in the process of reaching therapeutic dose, so technically I’m still not in the right place. I had been in remission on Zyprexa until she pushed me back to work and then soon halved my dose. So if you do go back, be meticulous about your meds and make sure you’re taking enough. Zyprexa lost its effectiveness when my next practitioner doubled it, so I fell down the med change rabbit hole.
Obviously we’re all different, but jumping to six days a week when you already have doubts sounds like a bad idea. Much better to wait for the right opportunity, and I strongly encourage you to start part time if that’s possible.
Tbh, I couldn’t tell you what to do. It’s a big, life changing decision that could affect you drastically. Do you think you can handle those hours? You say if you don’t take this job then you may not work again for years. Well, if you failed at this job you may not work again for years. What skills do you have? Can you work a professional job? Maybe you should pass on this job and take any other job you can get including, restaurants or stock work or warehouse work or cashier.
Finding a part time job is not easy I applied to a lot of online and part time jobs and I get no response because they get thousands of applicants + it raises a lot of questions in the minds of employers especially if you are dont have any work
I really hate this illness , everything is hard in life and gets harder the more you age
