Awesome! I also love the programs where they pair kids up with senior citizens or shelter animals to read to them.
Also, I wonder if this is Kutztown, PA…

I think EVERYONE should do a bit of volunteering and visiting with seniors.

What a touching video. Thank you for sharing. When I moved to PA from CT to help take care of my terminally ill mother-in-law, I took a CNA course and did my clinical training at a nursing home. I had never been around people in this stage of their lives, never thought about facilities where people were living lonely, sometimes demented, and fully dependent on clinical services when they had lived their whole lives full and independent. I was so touched and went on to nursing school so that I could work with the geriatric population full time, but I suffered an injury and eventually it wasn’t meant to be. A lot of nursing care, particularly with the elderly, is being able to lift and shift and maneuver and hold weight. After my back surgery, I just couldn’t do that anymore. Now I work an office job and it’s just not quite the same.
