I am experiencing seroquel withdrawals? I went from 600mg xr to 300mg xr and couldn’t sleep at all and was feeling anxious… its been 4 days now and stil the same thing, anyone else experience this? Would like to hear your experiences with seroquel withdrawal.
Why did you lower the dose? Did your psychiatrist say it?
I just started taking 100mg of Seroquel as a sleep aid. The first few days I slept very well but later in the week I’ve been having trouble sleeping again. Maybe because my body is building up a resistance to the drug perhaps?
@revv. When my dr took me off Seroquel, she had me start another AP. As we decreased Seroquel, we increased Geodon. I had no withdrawals that way. I started on 80mg of Geodon while decreasing Seroquel. Then we stopped Seroquel, and I went up to 160mg of Geodon. But I’m not on Geodon anymore.
I take magnesium and melatonin for sleep. It works.
I did try melatonin for a while but was unsuccessful in getting a good night’s sleep. I haven’t tried magnesium yet.
I take magnesium and melatonin together
No I am doing this by myself I know I shouldn’t but its complicated, I will die if I keep taking this med my heart rate keeps going above 150-180 every day after and feels like I am going to have a heart attack if I keep taking it I just can’t take it anymore. If I take some lorazepam I can sleep so I will keep taking this until the withdrawal symptoms go away I don’t know what else to do I just can’t sleep.
Im also still am on a therapeutic dose of my other antipsychotic so I don’t think I will relapse into psychosis.
Yes seroquel can effect your heart. But I would strongly advise having a psych minister you tapering off. If you’re especially sensitive to meds like I am, the withdrawals will be agonizing. If anything taper off incredibly slowly. It’s not ideal but it’s the only way beside going on another AP. And ask for an ekg
I have 140 heart beats due to antipsychotics
