schizos can have a drivers license right.
i have one but i’m not allowed to use it anymore… my pdoc said i can’t drive anymore.
really why because of hallucinations.
i’m not sure… he said i can’t drive anymore… so my trucking license is pointless now these days =( … it’s kinda sad …
But mostly i’m ok with not driving anymore.
I have a hard time analyzing traffic these days, like my brain is too slow and it’s one of the reasons i’m not allowed to drive anymore…
I think it’s the cognitive problems also…
okay i understand.
Of course.
I’ve had a license since I was 16.
In the UK you have to tell them of your illness to apply for a licence, and if granted then they issue it for around1-5 years at a time depending on your history.
do you need a doctors note.
No.
You don’t have to disclose any kind of mental illness to get a license.
At least not anywhere I’ve been.
okay i see thanks 15151515
I have a professional driving license. Can operate everything up to large passenger buses and heavy trucks so long as they are not tractor/trailer combos. I get a physical every two years, but for my heart.
do you tell them you have a illness.
I have a driver’s license but I don’t drive very often.
But since I live with my elderly fathers it’s good to have.
do you tell you have schizo.
They don’t ask if you have a schizo disorder.
okay, thanks. 15151515
It depends, every person is affected differently, some can drive and some can’t. It would be tyrannical for them to have a blanket policy that all schizophrenics can’t drive. I have a drivers license and drive all the time. I’ve had schizophrenia for over 15 years, but I am symptom free thanks to my meds. However, other people with schizophrenia, for example the “Catatonic Schizophrenia” subtype from the DSM IV would not be able to drive.
okay thanks for the information.
You don’t need one
Yes, of course. Failure to disclose invalidates my insurance.
