Quite a interesting podcast that I’d listened to about different cultures and the difference in schizophrenic delusions.
In places like Korea when people are having delusions a lot get very formal, buy bowing to the ground for others.
In Africa and Indian cultures, a lot have positive delusions about ancestors guilding them in life, while mostly the western counties could be considered negative.
Ummm. Koreans bow low to each other as a sign of greeting, equal to the American handshake. Also you bow lower to people who are older or hold positions of authority. It doesn’t have anything to do with psychosis it has to do with showing respect.
Interesting cultural difference: in most Asian cultures you do not make eye contact with each other. It is considered rude and disrespectful, especially if they are higher status, such as royalty or elders. You never look people in the eye.
Basically they put their heads on the ground
In olden times, they would get on their knees and bow very low to the ground, hiding their eyes. It was a sign of respect. I mean I’m confused why you think it’s a sign of psychosis, when it’s part of the culture,
You answered your own question
In olden days
They still do that on special occasions, such as ceremonies honoring their beliefs and their elders. It’s still done, just not as much.
I’ve seen K-dramas where this type of position was used at funerals.
So maybe I’m not autistic, I’m just a Korean stuck in the body of a honky?
(I also love Korean food.)
Lol. Yeah but Koreans would be very accepting of you. You’d fit right in.
