Scared to drive my car now... multiple close to almost car crashes

Ok im kind of scared of driving my car now since i havent been on my med’s for a minute and i just finally resolved my issue of a long awaited facility that will take me in on no insurance (it’s a confusing story). I have shizophrenia/phycosis but when i was diagnosed i was not paranoid as i am now like some years ago just hearing alot of voices but not paronoid but now in the present it feels like every where i go a car crash is a about to take place and i am in a city where the people drive wreckless just because they can and that dosent help at all. Can someone please give advice on what to do or how to do it?

If you are genuinely concerned for your ability to drive safely, do not drive. It’s as simple as that. It’s for you own wellbeing as well as others. When I was on geodon the side effects were so debilitating (heavy sedation, lightheadedness) that I also nearly got into accients several times and then did get into an accident once (luckily minor). After that I generally stopped driving and had family take me everywhere until I went off the med.

Like michael jordan said, “play every game like ur first game”. Drive safely everytime u drive like u did ur first time. I dont like driving much myself, but i have learned from past mistakes and as long as i keep driving without accident i should be safe.

You have to learn to drive defensively and learn to anticipate the actions of others. Also it’s best not to drive too close to other vehicles when at speed. Also don’t let people behind you pressure you into possibly doing something stupid.

I get paranoid driving too but I’ve found these things help. Also caffeine helps but too much caffiene can be bad while driving so make sure to get the proper dosage that works for you.
