@HollyHobbie Thought I’d let you know that the new Whitney Houston biopic is on Netflix.

I just got through watching it and I thought it was awesome!

They did a good job in it of celebrating her life and music rather than dwelling on all the typical drama that the tabloids would dig up on her.

I give it a 3 and a half out of 4 flies.

Thank you Monte. I think I might watch it again. We saw it in the movie theater. We have Netflix. :sunglasses:

You know what? I saw her in concert in the spring or summer of 1994. She brought out Bobbi Kristina onto the stage. She was like a year old.

Someone had come onto the stage and said that Whitney wasn’t feeling that great that night. She or he wanted us to cheer her on. We did and she eventually came out and performed.

Wow!!! That’s so cool. I bet that show was amazing.

I’m mostly a fan of her second album, but I do like some of her later songs too.

She had the most beautiful singing voice! @Montezuma.

I love that second album too. I remember when it came out. I was like 10. I listened to the radio a lot as a kid.

Absolutely! I mean her vocal range was just amazing. She was such a beautiful and talented lady.

It sounds like we’re around the same age range. I remember when the second album came out too, and my mom bought that tape. We used to roll through our neighborhood all the time blasting it LOL! Awww, such sweet memories.

I loved being a kid in the eighties.

I was born in 1977. By the way, most websites say 1980 is the last year of Gen X. I think you were born n 1980.

Remember people walking down the street with boom boxes on their shoulders? :joy:

@PinCushion did not vote in the generations thread. She’s from The Silent Generation. That generation had no votes.

Yes ma’am! We 80s kids had the best movies and cartoons.

And I do remember the big boomboxes haha! I always thought those were so cool.

Thank you btw. I always thought I was Gen X. Just wasn’t sure about the cutoff date.

I just got through eating dinner. I had a Ramen chicken bowl and a grilled cheese.

Don’t forget the best music! I’ve always been obsessed with listening to music.

We’re going to see Janet Jackson in May. I want to see Madonna in August. We’re going to see Foreigner with friends at the end of August.

My daughter loves the ramen noodles. My husband gets her two a week - different flavors.

We had beef stroganoff for dinner.

Ahhh yeah! The Cure, Depeche Mode, Gary Nueman, The Church!

Those sound like they’ll be great concerts.

I love Ramen too haha! It’s so tasty.

And beef stroganoff sounds fire!

Yes! I thought about going to see The Cure in June here. I only know three songs by them though.

OMG I would love to see The Cure! I say go for it!

They’re probably my favorite band of all time. I pretty much have heard all their albums and singles and B-sides.

My favorite song by them is Lovesong.

It’s time for me to go to bed. See you tomorrow hopefully!

It’s hard to believe I would be considered a young Gen-Xer…
