Have you felt that way too sometimes? I don’t need a reason to be sad sometimes…
That’s how I feel today. It’s possible it’s a coffee hangover though as I had a lot of coffee yesterday. So maybe I have a reason.
When I get depression, it is usually for no reason. Just sit there in the dark and wonder why
I sometimes get sad for no reason. Sometimes, I search around my brain until I can make up a reason to be sad, and that makes me feel even worse. Feelings will drift in and out of you for no apparent reason, and it’s better to just let them come and go. Take note of the way the feeling affects you. Maybe your heart rate speeds up. Maybe it makes you tired. Breaking it down in a clinical way helps me feel less overwhelmed by my emotions. It reminds me that feelings are just a normal part of being human, and no feeling lasts forever. @rhubot taught me this trick.
That’s just how depression works unfortunately. Not always a reason. I think those times are most frustrating because it’s like “Can’t I just be allowed to enjoy my life?!”
I like to just wait it out. Tomorrow you will feel happy.
Take rest
I suspect you are depressed. The world situation is depressing. We are in an epidemic of depression. Feeling sad and not wanting to eat and difficulty with sleep are typical symptoms.
Some causes for depression may include imbalances of brain neurotransmitters (like serotonin, norepinephrine or dopamine), hormone problems (thyroid disease, menopause, low testosterone, etc.), genetic predisposition, medication or drug side effects, overwhelming stressors, traumatic life events and negative cognitive perspective on life.
Depressive symptoms may often be more present at night than during the day because during the day one is more active with their mind preoccupied with other things. Think about keeping yourself busy i.e. reading, exercising, or engaging in other hobbies.
When I get depressed I’ll see if caffeine can help me. If that won’t, then I’ll try sugar. If that doesn’t work I try to take a nap. I guess it’s escapism.
If you notice feeling more depressed during winter it could be Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD). The cure is getting more sunlight, 20-30 minutes next to a 10,000 lux SAD light, or increasing your Vitamin D intake.
It feels good to be sad sometimes.
Yes. I keep bursting into tears. There’s usually an insufficient reason.
Yeah. I used to be sad for no reason all the time. That’s depression for sure. I’m not depressed right now. Hopefully you will be able to stop being sad and be happy soon. Although I’m not happy. I don’t have those sorts of emotions anymore.
