I was really hoping to see about twenty five dollars because that’s what I would usually make for that many books…anyways…a buck thirty cents…depressed…
I’m sorry big dude. That sounds like a pretty small sum for 12 books.
Did you ever sign a contract before putting your book on Amazon?
yes in 2005…Idk why it’s so low now…I hope there’s been a mistake.
That’s ridiculous. I would contact them. You put a lot of work into that I’m sure. I want to write a book some day when I can organize my thoughts better. Do you have any advice? For now I just write my thoughts on notepads
I’m never going to publish my books until I get to heaven, that’s my sophomore extract 2014.
What do you mean by $25;?; The books for husbands, not wives, after the fall…
That is depressing. It makes me wish I bought your book off you directly.
My sister wrote a book and put it on amazon a few years back - learning her process made me realize how incredibly pricey it is to even publish a book.
That sounds about right. You choose which royalty you get 30% or 70%. Putting it available up on KUwould net a little, too.
There is no contract with Amazon. I’ve been using them since KDP started and the only contacts are for super sellers and Amazon exclusive.
Can you contact them and see what the problem is?
I have never been able to, once I won the lottery with JZ2 and got a kiss before I was robbed. That was back in the day when JZ2 ruled the roost, 2004 in fact.
My mum loves me though so I guess I’m doing alright in a galaxy far far away.
I don’t know how it is for my cousins, I guess they struggle two with witches and queens, like in the Aslan stories, but at least they generally have their own struggles I think, me, I’m a bridge between researchers and lodges, makes me a target really
I am thinking about publishing my book. I am talking to Mascot Books. Who do you guys recommend?
I was waiting for a good ending and March 17th I will have been back to work full time for a year so I think that’s a pretty good ending.
Don’t go with them. They’re one of the pay to publish scammers out there.
The steps are to write the book, edit until it shines, search for an agent, submit to agent and wait on their acceptance or rejection, then the agent finds a publisher. You NEVER pay to publish.
How do you find an agent? My book is an autobiography about mental illness. Don’t know if there is really a market for that. I took my time on the first half and rushed through the second half. I could edit a lot.
You do a search for publishing agents that are open to submissions in your genre. Then write a query letter. Your book has to be finished and as good as you can make it.
I couldn’t find any agents. With Mascot I can get 750 books published for about $5410. That seems expensive. I don’t know if I could even sell 750 books.
Don’t do that. They make money y selling services to authors and you get stuck.
Never pay to publish. Ever.
In order to turn a profit on that scam (including payment for hours put in) you would need to sell the book for at least $9. And that would net you a profit of about .60 per book if you sold all of them. This is assuming only 100 hours of work at 12/hr. You would realistically spend much more time promoting it.
Hey Juke,
Don’t think so much about the income.
Endorse yourself for getting the book done and published. You set a goal and you followed through…and that makes you a success in MY book!
