Another thing I would like to ask… I used to love writing short stories and was a lot of fun, but since I started risperidone my focus is dead and my creativity is below zero. Do you think I will have more creativity with abilify? It’s sad to be unable to write stuff, and I loved it.
Risperdal is King! Abilify sucks. That’s my story anyway.
I’m actually ok with risperdal nowadays, because my dose is lower. I feel much better and think won’t change it, just wait until I have to stop taking it.
I have never taken Abilify but I know it’s very popular. I take 1mg of Risperidone every night. I haven’t been in the hospital for a year so it seems to be working although I am still delusional as hell
I take both risperidone and Abilify together, how’s that! Lol

The aripiprazole was hell for me and risperidone was also pretty rough with side effects

Hiya. I have been on a few medications these 2 A’s well as qutiapine and just switched to Paliperidone.
Risperdal was the very first medication I was put on. It kicked my symptoms in the butt really quick and worked, however I was very young at the time and would not stay on this medication due to acceptance and weight gain.
Not long after ability was tried. This was terrible. The only one that has been terrible. Simple guessing it just didn’t work. However during the period I was on it I had severe social anxiety for months. When I came off it this went away.
Spent the last 9 years on qutiapine.
I can’t add much more. It just did not work at all. I don’t remember having any other side effects on the ability. But the social anxiety rendered me almost incapable.
As bad as Risperdal is, it works. Abilify made my psychosis worse.
I’m on 30mg of abilify and have actually lost weight and I’ve heard it’s weight neutral (not 100% sure on the fact). However, everyone is different so you have to keep that in mind. Also I’ll add that Abilify made me restless at first but that slowly went away.
Risperdal is a good Med that seems to work for most people, but tends to have a lot of side effects such as weight gain especially for me. However when I was on risperdal it did nothing for my psychosis and I ended up gaining 25 pounds.
I take risperidone and I have no serious side effects. meds affect people differently.
I took Risperidone for over 6 months, and then my Prolactin is significant higher.
My doctor recommends me considering “Abilify” to replace Risperidone.
Risperidone cause me weight gains for 50 pounds and Prolactin increase, but it treats my schizophrenia, autism and anxiety are good; therefore my social activities is good now.
I am wondering “Abilify” may to withdraw my social activities???
Abilify may cause other side of effect to me???
Please give me some of ideas.

Hi, so when I first started on abilify it took about two months before the voices went also I got restless leg syndrome for the first two months which was horrible. I ate tonnes of food whilst on the standard dose but I’ve heard it’s meant to be weight neutral so I could be the minority. Generally for an AP I guess it’s not the worst though I do also have reduced alertness strength and hair loss. Hope this helps…
