A week is not that long I would just stick with it they may increase it over time to get it to work. Takes time don’t get discouraged. Are you taking anything else with it?
I have been on Risperdal for a year now. It helps me with the extreme paranoia and the overt Psychosis. My delusion is taking a little while to go away but, otherwise, I feel better. I agree with the above posters that say give it a couple weeks. BTW: I started with 2 mg and have been able to back down to 1mg. I was temporarily on 4 mg (for severe and extreme paranoia) but the restlessness caused sleeplessness and was unbearable. I am fortunate that I haven’t experienced that level of paranoia since then. So far so good on 1mg. Hang in there for another week or so and see if you don’t feel better. Good Luck
