Retirement

Hi folks,

I don’t come here as often as I used to. I am going to be 62 this year. I am retired after working the same job for 34 years. I was not DX’d until my 30th year. I struggled to keep my job. I managed. I hung on. It wasn’t easy. One of the reasons I don’t pop in here as often as I used to is that you are all so young. I am what they called High Functioning when I was first struck with Schizophrenia. So I am not sure that my opinions would help anyone. But I will check in now and again. There is always hope even when the sky looks dark.

Regards,

Zaphod

Hey matey. Remember you from the old days and more power to you. I’m glad your getting to retire. That really is a great achievement and may your days be long. Time to pick up a hobby to keep you interested in things and keep the brain and body active.

I hit 50 last year…Didn’t that last 10 years fly by.

Thank you for posting.

I have reason to believe I am also high functioning. I hope to be as able as and strong as you have been!

nice to meet you @zaphod =)
I don’t think it matters that you are a bit older than most.
And that you are high functioning doesn’t matter either, you still can bring good thoughts here!
