Recommend me a laptop

Preferably one you can play the sims with

(dont worry i can afford one)

I play sims with asus vivobook. It’s not a newest model, and not the really expensive one.

I’ve bought it 4-5 years ago.

I know people like Mac computers

Mac computers don’t work for the thing that our exams and tests are in

I like my Dell, it’s an older model but can still run windows 11. I got it refurbished from Refurb.io

I dropped $3,500 on an ASUS ROG laptop for my kid for university this year as her old one was end of life. She is happy with it and can game on it.

wow that’s good that you can afford it

Can you play the sims and games like that on a cheaper laptop or should I just buy one that they advertise as a ”gaming laptop”?

Sims is an old game so no need for a gaming laptop but you need to meet the minimum or recommended system requirements:

Yeah but what if I want to play other games with it

You need to meet the system requirements of the other games too to be able to play them. Usually newest ones require a more powerful gaming laptop.

whats your budget?

I like Dell XPS. I feel like thats a good brand and that model is a good build.

2000 euros approx

with that budget you can buy a top spec laptop. you may not need as much power for lighter games like sims which can pretty much run on a $300 laptop. but it never hurts to have more power as you wont have to upgrade for a long time

this can handle any and every game or software even video editing. basically the most powerful laptop you can buy

this laptop however is half the price and still very adequate and can run any game, the first one is overkill for sims, this will run it flawlessly and probably even can play at higher resolutions like the previous without much compromise.

idk how the market is in europe so some models may not be available there, but general things to look for are at least 1920x1080p display, 16gb ram, ssd, and preferably a dedicated nvidia rtx gpu, but if it has an amd cpu the radeon 780m used in 7th gen ryzen apu’s and 680m in 6th gen ryzen apu’s are still pretty good for most games, and draw less power than pc’s with a dedicated gpu so battery life will be longer
