Rain gutter and wood attached fell off my front porch

Now there’s a gaping hole on the front of my porch where the rain gutter rotted off…doubt the landlord will do anything…sheesh.

Oh no! Tell him he should fix it asap to prevent structural water damage?
I know from experience, that’s very pricey if even possible sometimes.

And take pictures if just for your records so he can’t say he didn’t know.

What about the broken trees in your garden, @jukebox , are they away now ?

Seems to be an old building.

I’d say to move or to report that slumlord, but I’m in the same boat.

My town has been fining my slumlord for years. He ignores it.

We can’t move because there’s nothing available. We can’t buy because even thought we have paid rent faithfully for 23 years and never had an eviction, we “can’t afford a mortgage of the same cost”

@James99 yes, now there are TWO broken trees leaning precariously on other trees in the yard…could fall at any moment. makes me nervous for our dogs and the guy that mows our lawns. bad bad

@anon4362788 we pay the lowest rent in the whole town…400 dollars a month…no way I could move at this point…would love to…mom keeps fliriting with the idea of getting us a house.

Sorry man, that’s very uncool. Renters are entitled to a safe home where they can live in comfort with some dignity.

If your mother has as much money as you say,why wouldn’t she help you get out of there?

I guess she doesn’t know what to do…I don’t press it…we need a new car before we need a new home…we’re happy here actually, it’s perfect for us except for the crappy landlord…when inner things have gone wrong with the house he’s usually johnny on the spot. thanks for caring. @anon4362788 @shutterbug

Our landlord is finally fixing the deck that was falling off our house. They got a good look at it and apologized for it being unsafe. It will take them a week to finish.

If you have a drill and step ladder maybe you can just screw it back in?

Sometimes with cheap landlords you gotta just fix things yourself.

the rest of the overhanging wood is also rotten, it will have to be stripped back to the eave of the house to be rebuitl to do it again…no tools, no desire.

Is it leaking? We were renting and our landlord was horrible. When I looked at the house I parked in the street and didn’t notice a chunk of the driveway was missing. Then they wouldn’t fix the roof and cats got in the attic and had kittens in there. I tried to go and get them and the mom hid them in the walls. The mom ran off and never came back.

We had to cut a hole in the wall to get them out and bottle feed them. The landlord would never repair the drywall and when I renewed the lease I asked if he would fix the driveway. He said yes and then never did it.

I am a veteran and can buy a house with no money down. I bought a nice house with no money down and my mortgage is much cheaper than rent was. I don’t qualify for any type of assistance.

They still wanted me to pay rent. I said I saved all the emails and see you in court. Never heard from them again.

Good riddance.

Hopefully they fix it.
