How many of you experience derealization after psychosis?
whats derealization?
Basically feeling that nothing is real.
yeah, I do get that after psychosis. i feel like it starts during psychosis and then takes awhile for me to notice once im medicated. after medicated, it’s there but it slowly goes away as i return to normality. i feel pretty normal right now, but that’s because im under zero extra stress beside normal everyday anxietys.
the days that i’m happy, i don’t feel derealisation at all - hope this helps a little
That makes sense.
During and after psychosis I would often get the feeling that the universe ran off emotional energy and magic rather than atoms, subatomic particles and basic forces. It was surreal. Parts of it still stay with me to this day to the point where it feels like the world runs off both, that mirror each other.
Not quite the same as no real, but that is my experience.
For me it’s usually a first sign of psychosis about to happen. Just happened to me a couple of days ago so I’m on alert now.
I have constant derealization
I get it before, during, and a bit after psychosis. Its a good warning sign for me
I experience it in that I dont feel like I belong with my body, like my tagline says.
yeah i feel i m in unfamiliar reality
talking to ppl in my head
no one live such reality
they are like that for more than decade
so i feel i m in unfamiliar reality
Yeah pal I got it a lot as many others describe and for me it was the first full psychotic kind of symptoms I had around age 13, at age 30 I have fought hard and like they say it’s a good early warning sign
I suffer from varying levels of it through the year and most often during the summer. I am residual all the time but lead a good life and the happier I am irl the more real I feel. Almost feels like the psychosis was a distant dream like never happens to me lol.
But I live with Residual symptoms and negative ones a lot as I am autistic the negative ones won’t ever quit
. Just work on keeping on and finding how to manage the SZ then the rest comes easy in my experience. Hope you can feel better one day too ![]()
