If I didn’t have negative symptoms off meds, would I still not have them on meds?

I think APs can be numbing and cause negative symptoms. But it depends on the person

I don’t have negative symptoms now. I think before I was depressed. I do have positive symptoms though. Zyprexa did make me lay on a couch for a year and not move. I was so sedated that I slept 12 to 14 hours a day and only went on the forum writing out of my mind.

Without the antipsychotic I am a completely normal person. The problem is that after about 12 months I have a psychotic episode and therefore I have to take the antipsychotic again. The thing is that schizophrenia is a very heterogeneous disease, and therefore each person’s particular response to antipsychotics is also very heterogeneous.
We know nothing about the brain, that is the sad reality.

I had severe negative symptoms and severe depression also. And both of them are in remission. Depression led me to very low energy and hopelessness and fears of suicide. And the negative I just wanted to be left alone. I was just waiting and waiting. I had no emotions. I didn’t even have feelings. All I had were like the positive symptoms in my head. Have you ever been checked for depression @everhopeful? I imagine all these years dealing with psychiatry you’ve been checked many times. I don’t know if you’ve ever even taken an anti-depressant have you?

I was originally misdiagnosed with depression actually ! But I don’t have depression, just negative symptoms.
