Obligatory not a lady, but I wear sports bras exclusively. I have a very large chest though. Think GG cups. So I have to wear something or else the weight of them hurts me.
That said, if I had a smaller chest I would go bra-less all day every day. It’s just so much more comfy than caring what others think.
Unless I lived in a very culturally modest country, I will always choose no bra over bra.
Thanks for this,
You helped me a bit to realise my comfort is more important!!
I truly never found a comfortable bra. That’s why I think I need to stop wearing them entirely
I’m 50 years old and the only time i wear a bra is when i wear a sports bra to swim in. I haven’t worn bras for years and, i must confess, that the “sisters” sag a little…but i wear scrub tops almost exclusively and nobody can tell that the sisters are hanging loose. I do have relatively small sisters, tho, never had kids…
When my daughters were around 8 years old, my wife had done a fresh load of laundry…with her bra on top… and left it in the apartment hallway.
As it was a very hot day, I wasn’t wearing a shirt. I put on my wife’s bra and started scolding the girls (Do this!! Don’t do that!!)…in a high pitched voice.
My daughters thought my imitation of Mom was hysterical! So much so that they went to school the next day and told their teacher that daddy wore Mom’s bra! Of course there was no context whatsoever and guess who was a no-show for the next parent/ teacher interviews!
I personally prefer to wear a bra because I’m very large breasted (just got professionally sized and I’m a J cup - no joke!).
It would be very attention seeking for me to go braless as people everywhere would be staring.
Plus, I don’t want sexual attention,
I feel best in a bra that fits well like I just bought. I like that it holds me up and in and minimizes my breast size a bit.
I’m not saying it’s fair, but when women go out without a bra on, they tend to get a lot of sexual attention. Is that right? NO. But is it going to happen whether it’s ok or not? YES.
So make your decision based on how comfortable you’ll be not just physically, but emotionally and mentally as well.
This was me most of my life. Recently, I stopped getting pain from the weight. I’m not exactly sure why. I’ve been doing a lot of core training, but I had done that before also. I even did targeted PT specifically for the upper back pain of carrying these things around. For whatever reason, I can now comfortably go around without support.
@anon8411913 it’s all down to your comfort level. If you rely on someone else for housing, you have to respect their standards, but have you talked to them about it yet? And if they are bothered by the idea of you going out without a bra, you can always just layer up until you leave. I am extremely larger than average in that area, and nobody can tell when I’m not wearing a bra if I just throw on a baggy sweatshirt or jacket first.
