My paranoia

My paranoia has reduced since the slight increase of my Haldol. Problem is it makes me spaced out and have less emotional expression, and less personality. Do you think I’ll get used to this dose over time?

That’s good that it reduced your paranoia. IDK about the side effects going away, but it’s possible. I had severe akathesia from Latuda when I was on it, but it eventually went away.

@Winterblues how long did it take to get used to it?

It was a while. I got on it around June 2012, and it was around October- November I went for pizza with some friends and I felt like I couldn’t think of anything to say. I was faking my emotions. I know that doesn’t sound hopeful. I guess it’s not exactly a definite time frame. It depends on who you surround yourself with and with time it gets better, I was just happy I was sleeping better.

It’s hard to think that far back, a lot has changed. It’s really effective though definitely give it a try

Anybody else have any thoughts on this???

It will take months before you fully adjust.
Things can get better/easier for you.
Be patient.

Good luck @LilyoftheValley

When I increased my abilify dose from 10 to 15mg it took me a while to adjust. Then things settled down eventually.

@everhopeful did your improvement remain once you adjusted to the new dose or did you need to up it again?

It remained. I’m still on 15mg.

I do well on Haldol but need a increase every now and then. I’m also on latuda, lithium and amitriptyline. And it can take a while to get use to them

If it seems to dramatically interfere maybe talk to pdoc. The side effects of the Haldol pills is why I want back on the injection. I have less symptoms but not all or most symptoms aren’t being helped

I was on it and while it worked, I did seem to lose a touch of my personality. And it got worse as the dose increased. And then I had another side effect that went on till I couldn’t ignore it which was uncontrollable muscle movements in my eyes so I had to get off of it. But boy did it work on covering my symptoms. I would work with your doc to see to be on the lowest dose possible that still covers all your symptoms
