You’ve, no doubt, heard “This hurts me more than it hurts you.” I just figured out how true that is. Because there was no need for the punishment. A good conversation would have sufficed.

When I teased my sisters or got caught shoplifting balloons or got sent to the principles office at school and had to tell my mom, I got the belt.
It was always, “Wait til your dad comes home” and I would start crying from just knowing that in a couple hours I was going to get hit across the butt several times.
what punishment you talking about?
Beatings, yelling, social rejection
yea i agree, a good conversation suffices then for sure.
I think that some old ways of punishing such as beatings are not allowed any longer.
