Psychedelics and schizophrenia: a double-edged sword

https://www.nature.com/articles/s41380-024-02743-x

Psychedelics have shown promising effects in several psychiatric diseases as demonstrated by multiple clinical trials. However, no clinical experiments on patients with schizophrenia have been conducted up to date, except for some old semi-anecdotal studies mainly performed in the time-span ‘50s-‘60s.

Psychedelics as a treatment for schizophrenia or any other psychotic disorder is a massive joke

I don’t need psychedelics. I hallucinate naturally

Wave, would you consider cannabis to be a psychedelic? Just curious

I don’t think schizophrenia patients would benefit from psychedelics, but perhaps someone with severe depression?

Cannabis is in a league of it’s own in my opinion

My nephew is microdosing with mushrooms and he suffers with depression

It’s helping him a bit with his depression

Microdosing with psychedelics could help depression, yes

Agreed on the cannabis part

I think microdosing is certainly an option for folks with severe depression. Glad to hear your nephew is benefitting from it

I’ve had good experiences on magic mushrooms - high Hawaiians. You can get em sent in post from Shayanna shop

I don’t like canabis but when my parents reccomend it because of an article they read saying it’s beneficial for mental illness I keep telling them it’s not and that make a mental condition worse.
