I’m planning on getting one of these. Which do you prefer and why?

I thought that PS5 is backward compatible too

I’ve heard it’s only compatible with PS4… Xbox goes all the way back to the original Xbox. But I could be wrong…

I haven’t played a video game in ten years. I want to get back into the hobby.

Xbox is my preferred cuz of backwards compatibility. I play lots of Xbox 360 games on my Series X, but you cannot play PS3 games on a PS5. You can play SOME of them via a streaming subscription, but you can’t access any DLC. That’s the big downfall of the playstation.

Xbox doesn’t allow manual cloud saves, they are automatic, so you can’t cheat at hardcore difficulty modes. It’s the system’s only downfall, everything else is a positive.

I’d only get Playstation if you’re a die hard fan of Horizon, Spider Man, God of War, or Last of Us. Outside of those titles I believe Series X is the superior console, just since half the games I play are 360 games (New Vegas, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Fable, XCOM, EDF, etc).

PS5 will play PS4 games but that’s it, and don’t count on a PS6 playing PS4 games.

I have an xbox series x. Ive just always gone with the xbox since the original first one. Playstation usually has better japanese role playing game exclusives. The xbox focuses more on western style games since it is an american company. In the way of sales nintendo always wins then playstation then xbox usually comes in third between the big gaming consoles. I dont really know much but i think most of what i said is accurate.

I have not gamed for a good few years, so the Ultimate Game Pass is really something

xbox is more powerful (although it has yet to make a difference in quality in games that are on both so id consider them equal as far as the software allows) also xbox has a huge backwards compatible library from xbox series x to xbox one, 360 and original xbox with graphical enhancements even on some older games. ps4 and ps5 cant even play ps3 discs
also microsoft has made some significant partnerships with bethesda and other studios so game pass library is ever expanding. plus some xbox games have xbox play anywhere features due to microsoft owning windows and xbox so some games if you buy on xbox u can play on pc without needing to rebuy which is the case for most platform switches

Xbox is better but i have been playing on playstations since the end of super nintendo. I have ps5. I dont like xbox stock controller joystick positions.

Daughter and I like PS5. Husband and son prefer Xbox. Mine is a matter of available games; PS is more my style. I do prefer the Xbox controller, though.

I think I’m going with the PS5. The controller is really cool. On the other hand, X Box has Halo.

I have a ps5. Did have a series S but sold it. I would like to get a series X at some point to play some xbox games.
