I still don’t know how people with psychosis get away with smoking weed. One spliff is an instant trip to the hospital for me nowadays. Which is insane because I used to smoke it every day.
Cannabis gives me a real hard time now. Get all agitated and paranoid - not enjoyable. Is a shame because at one time I really loved its effects. In my experience I wouldn’t recommend it to folk with psychosis and the under 30s.
Used to be that way for me. We should switch. I can handle weed but just don’t like smoking anymore. It bores me to death. A waste of time and money. I do get really bad hypomania when I stop smoking. Not psychosis though.
Yea @chew. I would swap brains with you for a couple puffs to see what happened to me. It sucks man all my life I dreamed of legal weed and now it’s a reality and I’m riding the bench. I guess my green card got punched.
Weed doesn’t do anything bad for my psychosis and I even tried a hard drug once and it didn’t do anything bad. It’s sobriety that messes me up But fortunately I have good self control. I only drink alcohol in small amounts.
Which hard drug??? People on this board have told me weed was worse for them than heroin and or crack addiction. But I don’t believe that!!! It may seem like it in hindsight but I’m not buying it. It’s a matter of perspective I think though. Not a matter of ice cold FACT. I plan on drinking a beer or two per month going forward. Although alcohol has been very detrimental to me in the past. … I wanna go to the Thai restaurant when I recover from my sickness and order their speciality beer
Crack. Did it once because I was very depressed. Just made me feel heavenly, ha. Alcohol in big amounts I try to avoid because it depresses me.
The hangovers is what really gets me. And getting drunk is never as good as it sounds. I’m on naltrexone though so it kindve makes me sick. I can have A beer though…for the taste. It causes psychosis and depression if I drink a lot. Loved drinking a lot when I was young. Can’t do it anymore though.
It’s funny there are some people that have battled addiction issues in my family. I think I inherited their tolerance, but not their addiction.
What heritage/nationality are you. The Irish/Scottish can really throw them down
I’m both Irish and Scottish, albeit very little. Although all three meds say avoid alcohol I take. If I were to drink three beers I would instantly pass out.
Heh, I’m not Irish. The party lovers come from my mother’s side. They’re half Costa Rican, half Italian. It does make sense though. Costa Ricans love to party, and Italians probably as well.
Sweet! I’m half Italian and I looooove Costa Rica! It’s my favorite country in the world probably. Trying to move there with a visa in the next ten years. So you’re cool in my book
I lived there for nine months a year or two ago. Staying with my aunt. The food there is awesome and for a tiny country it’s really extraordinary how many different types of places you can see. You just have to be wary of the crime. The cops there don’t help much, well compared to the US at least.
Once I master the Spanish language and get my teaching certification, I’m moving to either Costa Rica, Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia, or Honduras to teach English at an intermediate level. It’s my dream! Costa Rica and Mexico are my first choices! I did a community service trip in Costa Rica when I was 15 or 16. Beautiful there! Yeah I remember in Guatemala or bus driver bribed the cop with money and he accepted the bribe. It’s the norm.
I’m from Scotland and can confirm the Scots are hard drinkers.
My mum was 5/8 Scottish and 3/8 Irish. She was an alcoholic/problem drinker.
I use marijuana on a regular basis and it does me wonders with my symptoms. I am happier using it. but I hardly buy it anymore so it’s not a problem like it used to be when i was married.
