I think I had the longest prodromal stage in history. OMG it was long. Probably at least 6 years of building and developing. And there was at least some psychosis going on in that time.
I think my schizophrenia was of the insidious type. I just got worse inch by inch year by year.
My prodromal stage was also long - about 4 years (1998-2002) - my high school years. I had severe panic attacks and a little bit of voices. Then slid into mood swings then after i left school I broke down and it was complete sza.
I think my prodromal phase started in 2010, and I didn’t have my first psychotic break until 2016. So 6 years – about as long as yours, @DarthVader. I had no idea what was going on during that time…
4 years give or take, of depression and anxiety, 2 years of voices.
Both before my first major episode
I never had a prodromal stage, I’ve been sz since birth
I don’t really understand wat prodromal phase is
Some people have a phase before their first major break. Usually lasts a few years, and there are signs.
Anxiety and depression are often misdiagnosed in the prodromal stage, and could be markers to raising risk of psychosis.
it’s pretty much the signs and symptoms before the onset of schizophrenia. These symptoms can include depression, anxiety, and social isolation – to name a few.
Oh in that case I ve had prodromal stage ever since I was like 12 lol.
Mainly anxiety but then a few years later the social isolation got worse n worse
yeah, it can last for a couple weeks or months, or numerous years. Just depends. But it’s often misdiagnosed during this period, like major depressive disorder
