have you got a PMA or do you want to have one? is there anyway you could get one?
i have a positive mental attitude and its all down to my meds and a hope and determination to improve
we all want to get better right
has anyone else heard the term ‘positive mental attitude’ i’ve heard it a lot from mental health professionals and i think they are trying to promote this in us and for us
I divide between myself and others. I have a negative outlook concerning my own ability to recover. This is coupled with a tendency to distrust others and to have negative ideas about them and their intentions. Overall, my mental attitude cannot be described as positive, rather there are positive and negative aspects to it. But my attitude is generally not positive.
I heard this term years ago when i was inpatient at a CBT Hospital for a year. Tho i try to have a PMA i never seem to succeed - im always stressing about something no matter how minor! Im quite jealous of those that can sail thru life without a care in the world. Any tips? I need a positive attitude so i can learn to chill out more!!
PMA helps me with alot of things. Even though I’m pretty cynical nowadays but PMA helps with some of those impulses. At times I get violent impulses and what not and PMA really helps to screen them out. I’ve gotten this positive and optimistic outlook from my father so it’s pretty good.
Its difficult for me to have a PMA.
I just think it’s just luck that I’m alive everyday so far.
I think the possibility of having an accident at any time can kill me and I fear that very much.
I’m very paranoid about it and keep myself locked inside the house that I live at everyday. It’s not living life at all.
My attitude is mixed. Part positive, part negative. I spent too many years severely depressed and suicidal and negative thinking became a sort of habit in me, unfortunately. But, my life is going so good today that I can’t help but have a mostly positive attitude now.
I changed my attitude by training my brain to notice positive things.
Most situations and most people have something positive to them.
I did it with people by trying to find something positive to praise or comment on with everyone I interacted with, even if I didn’t do it out loud.
I did it with sights and situations by trying to find something that sparked my interest or made me feel like smiling.
For an example, it’s cold outside, but the road looks sparkly with the ice. The sky is also mostly clear, so I can see the stars better. If I focus on the stars and the sparkly road instead of how cold I’m feeling, I feel better than if I focus on how my joints hurt when I get cold.
