Does that include in the church weddings or just civil?

From my understanding it doesn’t mean the church recognizes same sex marriage, but it is a step in the right direction. He voiced support for civil unions and protections for civil unions.
He has gotten a ton of push back from the more fundamentalist church members for his comment, but the younger and/or more progressive members, such as myself have long been calling for accepting amd welcoming our LGBT+ members.
A pope backing civil unions is a drop in the bucket of the progress I hope is made, but its an important drop and opens the door for more inclusivity.

They still have to accept that sexual activity in a long term homosexual relationship is not sinful and allow them to take communion.
Sadly most cardinals and high ranking individuals are very old, it may take a few decades to get there…

I hope the lucky cardinals can finally get some action before it’s too late.
Love is love. No one should judge two consenting adults who they choose to be in a relationship with.

The next question will be birth control - the pill and abortion. I hear that is a big issue in the Roman Catholic Church.

As for birth control I believe you can already take communion if you disagree with the official church position on it, the disagreement on this question is very widespread among theologians and bishops.
As for abortion I don’t think there will be a change in the official position, this position is more solid.

WHAA did the pope go mad if they just allow this for allowing this is going to be a mess up I can’t believe he didn’t add details towards this cause.
Accepting and loving all people is never a “mess up”.
