I created a poll a while ago about how many of you stopped taking medication before on so on, you can view a poll in the link bellow. But i forgot to ask how many of you actually weaned off and how many of you stopped cold turkey. Im asking because a choice “i stopped medications in the past but i´m on them again” didn´t answer what im asking here. Please answer.
I’ve been weaned off a couple of meds, switched many times to something else, but when I have stopped taking them, it’s always because I ran out and the hassle of refilling them was more than I could take.
I stopped cold turkey(although my track record at taking was erratic) on the doctor’s say so . That went on for a year before they decided to put me back on meds.
I think a major reason was they saw me as lethargic and yet the drug wasn’t doing much(I wasn’t taking it as I should).
At the time I was in a catch 22 over it . I was getting very stressed out looking after a wife with dementia. On one hand the zyprexa calmed me but on the other it made me lethargic and somnolent. The first thing was good but the second not ideal when having to keep an eye on someone.
I was on 10mgs and it was straight withdrawal rather than being put on a lower dose.
Eventually when I went back on it was a very low dose of 2.5 which was upped to 5 after a while. The problem with erratic compliance(forgetting to take doses) continued hence why I was put on depot.
I’ve been spending yonks detoxing heavy metals from my brain, I believe in the theory that it is Mercury, Copper, Lead, Aluminium, Cadmium that screws up the brain on a molecular neurotransmitter binding basis, the MSM sort of accepts that aluminium causes alzhiemers they won’t discuss the effects of Mercury and Copper on the brain, when I was detoxing the heavy metals my brain felt fried and I suffered from anxiety, I took calcium, magnesium and B1 to correct the imbalance as there usually reduced by detox, I’m on 100mg of Sulpiride now which is a real low dose, if it go’s ok I’ll drop it to 50mg, anxiety and insomnia symptoms are helped by calcium, magnesium and B1, still taking 15mg of mertazepine which is a crappy sleeping tablet/antidepressant, it would be cool to come off Meds completly, here’s hoping
