I did a $100+ pickup order at a store…
I waited for like 20 minutes after I said I arrived, then the app told me my order had been picked up…
I hadn’t received anything…
I waited another 20 minutes cause they seemed busy…
So I called the store # finally and someone came out to my car. They wanted to see my receipt on my phone… they went back inside, came back out and said they couldn’t find my stuff anywhere…
They said to come back this evening and they’d have my stuff ready for me…
I was so annoyed… when I got home I just called the customer service line for the store and told them I never received my order…
They gave me a refund and filed a complaint with the store (to do a look into see what happened with my stuff)
I’m totally betting they gave all my groceries to someone else by accident…
Idk, should I have NOT called the customer service line and complained? And just went this evening to see if they had my groceries ready…
I really couldn’t afford to just lose $100+, ya know.
I just don’t want anyone getting in trouble, but also there was really no guarantee they’d have my groceries this evening I don’t think… especially if it already said I picked them up.
I notice at Walmart sometimes when I go to pick up my groceries at curbside pickup that the Walmart app will sometimes say I picked them up before I actually picked them up. I used to think this meant they had given my groceries to someone else but then they come out with my groceries.
You did nothing wrong by calling customer service; that’s what they’re there for and they chose how they were going to handle the matter. They chose how they were going to handle the problem and their decision was to refund your money and you shouldn’t feel guilty about it or worry about it. The store made a mistake; you shouldn’t worry about it and they have no reason to get mad or anything at you. I understand you didn’t want to risk losing a $100, that’s a lot of money.
Yeah, calling customer service was smart because they gave you a concrete, sure solution to the problem while going back later was kind of a gamble and not a guaranteed solution.
