Pixel art practice of the day

I want clouds in the sky but I suck at them, I need to become better at it.

With the rocks I started with something like this

But it just looked bad… and I realised eventually that it’s because it’s not the correct shading for a sphere like object. I was shading it like it was a thin 2D like rock.

So today I’m going to practice rocks for a bit, to really hammer in the correct way of shading into my mind.
