Perfected the high heat smashburgers...wonderful

My wife says she wants me to always cook hamburgers this way from now on…I am thrilled with how it tastes…you use a flat masher to thin the patties to about half an ince think raw then on med. high heat you cook the burgers…I’m not good enough to mash them on the pan…that’s how I saw it done…but the burgers are crispy and just like diner quality…highly recommend trying it. @anon82948922

Ive had smashburgers at Smashburgers before and personally, I dont get the allure.
They are too thin, the taste doesn’t change for me, and I think the whole smashed up and jagged edge thing is nothing more than a stupid gimmick. Albeit one that seems to be working

well I decided not to do that on my burgers…but I have always had trouble just hand packing burgers into thin enough burgers, so this is a real problem solver for me…I just use med high heat and make them my way…still better than what I used to do.

It’s one fun way of cooking. I do them, but I have a large griddle to cook them on. I “smash” them down with pre-heated cast iron pans that I have oiled the bottoms of. They cook from both sides at once.

whoa…that’s like my old george foreman indoor grill…you would cook chicken or beef patties by closing them kind of a waffle lid type cooker…interesting…I bet your’s are BOMB.

I got a large outdoor griddle for pennies on the dollar at a bankruptcy option. I swear I put my back out every time I move it more than five feet. The problem is that word gets around small towns, so guess who winds up cooking burgers and flapjacks at events all summer?

“Bring your grill, and, oh, do you mind cooking?”

I should sell the dumb thing.

I went to a Smashburgers once.
The hamburger was way too salty!

Never again!

@anon82948922 I was gifted a smoker with the coal compartment rusted out…I need to wire brush the grill remaining with bottom intact and fire it up…I love my bacon wrapped jalapenos with cream cheese filling !!

I put a dash of milk and 1 piece of crumbled bread in my burgers makes em juicy.

I bought an indoor electric grill and the burgers come out juicy and very tasty!

Better than the George Forman grill which dried them out.
