is all about abnormal psychology. For me, I think it’s when your protective layer, (maybe myelin), has deteriorated or been destroyed by poor diet, stress, nutritional deficiencies. Leaving you exposed to exacerbating influences.
Maybe throw in lack of sleep and other “things people need”. Sounds plausible, although I don’t know much about myelin.
There are so many misconceptions surrounding sz. My two sisters, who know my diagnosis, insist thst sz is multiple personalities yet they refuse to research what sz really is. I blame TV and movies for that!
It’s a very strange disease. I don’t think anyone would understand it unless they lived thru psychosis.
I think it’s mostly genetic. But like some members demonstrate on this forum. You can still live a good life.
only some. a lot of people can’t.
Some people won’t even try.

My masking skills are good enough that my wife regularly forgets I have the illness and I have to remind her I need some space or some quiet because I have voices chewing on me and I need to do my relaxation rituals to try and ramp them back down.
I need my quiet alone time to deal with that kinda stuff too. Also, happy birthday!
Oh I missed the thread.
I think it’s more education
I have not even heard about this protective layer called myelin, but I had poor diet and stress before diagnosed. I also think alcohol and weed was part of it.
I don’t think I would have sz if I was healthier. I know many will say this is wrong, but I have a feeling about it.
So this is a normal person’s nervous system:
And this is schizophrenia’s:
Sorry, I couldn’t stop myself with the nerd post.
I think I see, there is some difference there.
It’s definitely not multiple personalities. I think they’re just starting to find the real problems, which is bad for most people. Hopefully Cobenfy will be valuable for treatment.
@devra,I don’t think normies don’t know about illness.
They just don’t care.
