I didn’t read the article, but who benefits from paywalls? I’m sure it stifles scientific progress, but people need money for various reasons and to support and give incentives to certain people.
It’s the greedy publishers that gain from paywalls not the scientists that do the research.
That’s what aaron swartz was all about.
