Pavlolian Conditioning doesn't work for schizophrenia necessarily

According to some studies, we are more traumatised by fear inducers than normally the case, which makes or impairs the usual process of getting over your fears. Therefore conditioning has mixed results

Conclusions: Individuals with schizophrenia who endorse delusional beliefs are over-responsive to neutral stimuli during fear conditioning. This finding is consistent with prior models of aberrant learning in psychosis.

makes me think it’s in our control to some extent, but there’s a key here. You have to have insight, and that’s not necessarily in our control right? Meds alleviate but for some it doesn’t even manage that

Not sure what this phrase means. LIke you place a coffee cup in front of them and they start pointing and screaming with wide eyes?
