Pangaea: How the earth was formed

I’ve posted this .gif animation before and I’ll post it again.




It’s interesting that recorded human civilization began almost 10,000 years ago yet the earth has been around 225 million years ago. Before humans there were dinosaurs and after the dinosaurs was some extinction level event. It makes you wonder how long humans will reign the earth until some other cataclysmic event occurs and how the earth will be in the future.

I learned in school that the earth was one land mass surrounded by water. Then the tectonic plates shifted to form the earth as we know it now.

Pangaea is that one land mass surrounded by water. Who knows how the tectonic plates underneath the earth’s crust shifted by it happened hundreds of years ago.
