We are conducting a research study on antipsychotic medications and their side effects, and are recruiting participants:
Eligibility:
- Age 18-90
- Have a diagnosis of schizophrenia or a similar disorder (e.g., schizoaffective, schizophreniform)
- Taking antipsychotic medication (e.g., Zyprexa, Geodon, Abilify, Seroquel, Invega, Latuda, Clozaril, Saphris, Fanapt, Solian) for 6 months at least
The study takes 3-4 hours and consists of:
- An interview discussing psychiatric & medical history, thoughts, functioning, diet, smoking, and activities
- Blood collection (for hormone, chemical, and genetic analysis)
- Body measurements (e.g., weight, height)
- Blood vessel functioning measurement
- Two follow-up phone calls
Location: Michigan Clinical Research Unit (MCRU) at the University of Michigan Hospital
