One-minute visual fixation can identify patients with schizophrenia

“Based solely on the fixational eye movements recorded during a one-minute period, a simple machine-learning model classified patients and controls with an accuracy of 85%.”

I believe it. Mental health professionals don’t need a machine to diagnose SCZ. It can take less than a minute to diagnose me just by observing slow verbal output formulations (processing speed), lack of eye contact, blank stares, and other nonverbal cues. I don’t even realize what’s happening until I think about it afterward. Lack of insight.

The fastest read took about 5 seconds when observing my answer to a question. SZA just like that.
