Not able to do paid work

I’m finding it hard to except my illness :mask:
I have been living with this for way too many years and sometimes I feel good and start applying part time jobs then I get voices and paranoia and I realise there is no way I can work paid I can only manage volunteer and I scrape through that but I can’t seem to stop hoping

My motto is try, if you fail and get fired, so be it.

It’s really hard to accept that not all of us humans are able to keep up with other humans. But there is a place for each of us in this world and there really is some type of paid work that is perfect for us.

A part time job might be too scheduled, to set in stone. It doesn’t give you freedom to have off days or stay at home if you’re paranoid. Is there any hobby or interest you have that you’re able to profit financially from?

I decorate cakes, face paint, clean vacation cottages and rent them out. I don’t do any of these things every single day. It’s too much. But it gives me money I need to survive, the freedom to choose days I work and to do it from home or by myself, but also when I’m more social and need to get out I speak with client and go to festivals. It works for me.

Other friends I have sell their artwork, make signs, jewelry, take photos and sell them to magazines, design websites, landscaping etc.

You are smart to work this way. I should think about doing some paid work either. Hopefully I will find my way of doing a job. Thank you for your inspiration.

I have a mental block about getting paid for working. I don’t understand it but I could work as a student and, of course, I wasn’t paid for that. Now, I don’t even work as a student.

I agree, even if it means low-paying or menial jobs.

That is good enough.

I found two skills in every technician who needs to provide on-site support: Technical skill and driving/riding skill; And two skills in everyone of you: Computing skill and typing skill.
What I am trying to say here: If someone does not possess the technical skill, he/she can make use of his/her driving/riding skill. Similarly, those who know how to operate the computer can consider becoming a typist?
