the only book I finished was “old man and the sea” by ernest hemingway. it was 92 pgs.
now I’m reading “ham on rye” by charles bukowski and I just can’t get myself to read over 2 pages at a time. it adds up though and some day I will finish it.

I always aim to read a chapter or two at a time. It makes me get through books quicker.
well that’s another reason I’m only reading two pages at a time…the chapters are usually two pages long…I want it all to absorb and let me think about it later so it takes about an hour between the times that I pick up the book…I think “ham on rye” must get rather exciting as he grows up but right now it’s just him and his parents in about 1930 with his mean father…kind of a downer right now so I don’t read it more yet…
I find that what helps me finish books is to only read about things I’m truly interested in.
Also, don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Say “I’m going to read this book, because I enjoy it.”
Don’t even worry about finishing it.
Have you tried breaking it up? Do 5 minutes of reading for every 10 minute break.
I took a book back to the library today, i had it out 6 weeks and it was a few days overdue, only managed to read 38 pages, very slowly until i gave up,
I know when i’m beat but i will try again with another book, i have the will to read but not the stamina and my eyes get sore for some reason, it was a lot easier when it was harry potter, i read all of those books which was a bit of a miracle tbh, i think my ex helped.
I picked up “ham on rye” about an hour ago and just now finished reading for the while…it’s starting to take off as he is growing up and being wild…
Heres the book that saved me in psych ward. I wasent allowed to smoke or use my phone for a few days, so i spent most of my days reading this book. Its a collection of short stories, i enjoyed it very much.
Ive never read those books you mentioned, i should check them out. Do you set aside time to read daily?
I set my books in front of me so I look at them while I’m not reading…keeps them on my mind…
