New invega user

Hi. I’m on my second day of Invega. The pdoc put me on 3mg. I was on 16mg of perphenazine three days ago. What a horrible experience getting off! Can anyone tell me about their experience with Invega?

I use the shots. The 156 mg was awful because it didn’t control my symptoms. Bumped to 234 and I feel better. Lost weight with portion control. I do have hardly any periods.

Did you experience any side effects?

My sz is well controlled with invega. I am also on the shots. This year I’m starting a dog grooming course and setting up my own buisness dog grooming. I have never felt better in years but an anti depressant had to be added to the invega for me to be more stable. (Sertraline)

I also don’t get periods anymore. Few things I now struggle with are flatness and motivation. Lack of enjoyment. But I barely have any positive symptoms.

I take 100mg

I was on the pills for two years. Last month i switched to injection. Invega has been the best AP for me. Not too much weight gain, for me it’s not sedating which i like very much. I have sexual side effects but not that much. I dislike sometimes that i have nightmares and i suspect it’s from this med. When i had 150mg of Xeplion i had crazy nightmares lol. I don’t have positive symptoms on it, only negatives.

They are also on Invega if i remember well.

took me about 16 months to get adjusted to Invega. gained some weight initially but was able to lose it through diet. have some sexual side effects, I just can’t go everyday like I used too, but can still go once a week. im feeling a lot better recently as I think im adjusting to the med. took care of most of my positive symptoms but I still have some negatives. that’s about it, a pretty good med. if not for the sexual side effects I would be very pleased with it.

I love Invega!
For the first two weeks I had increased hunger and decreased appetite, but I feel fine now. It had taken away my tactile hallucinations and lessened the other positives immensely. Almost no weight gain and minimal fatigue.

I get the Invega Sustenna - 156mg monthly injection. I virtually have no sex drive and haven’t masturbated in months, slightly high cholesterol, slightly high prolactin levels, and recently found out that it effects your liver too. However, I’m not delusional, voices are like whispers, I don’t hallucinate, I have insight into my illness, don’t talk to myself, maintain my hygiene, go to the gym 3 - 4 days out of the week, read books, listen to podcasts, work as a cashier, and have really no positive symptoms.

I don’t feel sedated and haven’t gained any serious weight. Besides the side effects it works very well with me.

I’m on Trinza or Trevicta as it’s called here. Been on Invega since 2015. And remission most of the time. Got no positive symptoms but I’m flatter in emotions and motivation is not what it used to be. But I’d say it’s getting better.

I take Invega 9mg tablets. It’s the best ap I’ve had. I’ve only gained 10 pounds but am taking it off now. It’s raised my prolactin levels. I hardly have periods. It’s been great for controlling my positive symptoms. Especially verbal hallucinations. Any questions just ask!

I forgot the sex. Yeah…no desire now.

@melmel7 how do you take it, with water and food or empty stomach, what time of the day do you take it?

I take it at night around 7pm with my dinner. I read that you don’t need food to take it but I prefer to take it with a meal.
