Deep brain stimulation is used in Parkinsons and OCD and is being tested in schizophrenia. But, in the past it has required surgery, which has risks. This would allow for precise targeting of brain regions without surgery.

The second link shows the initial results of the implanted, surgical type DBS, but this new technology would allow regions to be targeted without surgery.

I think that online brain training games stimulate the brain at a deep level. I got a huge energy boost from training with Lumosity daily.
