Nervous and excited about tomorrow

Tomorrow is my first step into my career. I have been working the past 2 years towards being a resident care worker. I’ve done 300+ hours of volunteering and also went to school to learn how to become one. I went to clinical for 2 months and then had to leave for medical leave to clean up my mental health. I cleaned myself up and got a job at a local senior home and now I have a job till January. Best of all once I finish my clinical next May I can go back to this place if I enjoy it and get better pay.

I’m really nervous because I don’t know what to expect. My teachers told me that this field isn’t for everyone and that my mental health may be a problem. I am determined to learn all I can and become the best I can and when clinical comes I want to show those teachers that my mental health doesn’t slow me down. I want to do amazing and get my career on the road. After a couple years of this and seeing how it goes I may go back to school to study mental health/disabilities.

Congratulations @dannyboy6657 and good luck in your new career!

I hope the job works out for you and don’t get a relapse from stopping your meds.

Lil bro is doing a nursing course for two weeks. Maybe it is something similar to this?
