Im chaning from risperdal to latuda and everynight after i take the latuda i wanna jump out of my skin and pace back and forth. I wish this nes change was easier, and i already felt like I don’t wanna leave bed all day. It’s my fourth or fifth day on latuda. I need to strength to get through these first couple months while my meds switch.
Sounds like you are experiencing Akathisia - Latuda is known for this.
It takes up to a couple of months to adjust, if you are having a really hard time, don’t hesitate to call your doctor

Ahh yes, sounds like the dreaded akathisia. Call the prescriber if needed. Sometimes they can lower the dose and raise the dose slower or they might add on a benzo in a low dose. I’ve also been settled by a burst dose of Cogentin.

A third vote here for akathisia. Cogentin benzotropine is standard for this. I have also found that Tums or Rolaids often works, tho not always. (It’s the calcium in them that turns the trick if the skeletal muscles are overloaded with sodium lactate.)
When I was on Haldol I was totally demoralized. When I was on Prolixin I could not sit still. I had to be up and pacing. I left an assisted living center and hitch hiked back to Muskogee because I could not sit still in their classes. That was one of the rougher road trips I have been on. I lost a lot of weight. That’s a long story.
An early attempt to formulate an anti-P that didn’t zombify people, fluphenazine was infamous for this. It’s still used (because it will deal with psychotic symptoms), but it’s way down the list toward the last house on the block now.

Many prescriber have found great success with the inclusion of diphenhydramine (Benadryl) at the 50mg dose as effective or more so than benzodiazepines which have addictive qualities.
Yeah, I had BAD Akathisia on Prolixen in 1987-89. And to a lesser extent in 1990-95.
