Our power goes out all the time. And often it’s for several days. Ugh! They’re estimating it’ll be back on tonight but I can’t tell you how many times they’ve said that and yet it stays off for days. I’m really hoping that’s not the case this time

Hopefully it comes back on soon. We just got a Generac. The gas company has to come out today and upgrade our gas line to a 2 pound system and then we can put it on stand by and have it as a back up.
We went without power for a week last year during hurricane Ida and the wife said that was enough. It took months to get it installed. We signed up last year. But we will be good for hurricane season this year.

Our power went out during a giant windstorm last year. It’s no fun.

Very wise of you both! I’m considering getting a generator. Problem is my husband and I are both disabled and we have 3 kids and can’t afford one. 2 of them are grown but they’re both not working due to mental illness. It sucks.

so sorry…a couple years ago a pine tree tall fell on our power line and until someone could contract out the electrician to come out and replace our electrical wires on the house, we were out of power for three days…then a week later, a down burst beat the city down with fallen power lines and we were out for another four days…I totally understand your plight…so sorry.

The gas company is here right now upgrading our gas line.
I have a portable generator I no longer need. We used it during Ida last year. I was able to run a portable ac in the master bedroom. Two refrigerators and a freezer. A lamp and charge our cell phones. If you were close by you could have it.
This new generator is going to run our whole house. I can’t really afford it either but will figure it out. We financed it.
Hopefully the power comes back on soon.

Yeah it sucks, doesn’t it?!
I’ve got some battery powered lanterns for when the lights go out. They’re not as good as overhead lights, but they still make life better when there is no power.
