My poor cat keeps getting ear infections!

My cat has been shaking her head and there’s brown dirt like ear wax in her ears.
She’s occasionally scratching her ears.

This most likely means that her ears are infected again.

This would be the third time

I’ve made a Vet appointment but all the Vet has been doing is giving her antibiotic ear ointment

They don’t have any concrete answers as to why she keeps getting these ear infections.

The one Vet doesn’t think it’s a food allergy although I changed her food to a limited ingredient diet she keeps getting these infections, so now I’m stumped.

I’m seeing a different Vet this time around although the last Vet said if her ears become infected one more time they are going to place her on a prescription hypoallergenic food.

I give up

I had to flush out Calliope’s ears with a mild antiseptic solution every couple of days when she had that issue. It cleared up after two months of this. It did not endear me to her, I’ll tell you that. She also hated getting her ears cleaned with Q-tips.

I’m kind of convinced that she’s allergic to some kind of ingredient in these foods.

I’ve eliminated soy wheat corn and most grains except for rice and other healthier grains.

Maybe she’s allergic to chicken or fish?

It’s been a big mystery especially for the animal doctors (vets)
