that Santa Claus isn’t real…and with that came crashing down her belief in the easter bunny, the tooth fairy and leprachauns…
What she had to say was that “my entire life has been a lie!” and “adults are mean!”…I said “It is very weird isn’t it?” Because I mean it IS weird…the whole santa claus/easter bunny thing…simply bizarre. She’s taking it well so far though…she’s been told that this is just part of growing up…finding out that our magical traditions are simply falsehoods.
I believed in these things as a child too…and probably wouldn’t choose to perpetuate it if I for some reason had a family of my own.
My world was rocked by the Santa thing. I wanted to tell my cousin immediately and tried to on the phone. I got in trouble for that. It didn’t effect me for too long, though. I turned out ok and I’ll do the same for my kids. It prepares you for the letdowns to come.
Guess my brothers were to mean to ever let me believe there was ever any magic in life.
Maybe that’s why I live(d) inside my imagination all these years, and prefer it because no one can tell me that it isn’t real.
my life would have been very boring growing up without santa and the easter bunny, all of those prezzies and easter eggs going to waste lol, no, santa is still good to me haha
I kind of figured it out myself when santa used the same wrapping paper as mom and dad. or when the easter bunny used OUR eggs. the nibbles on the carrots we left out for the bunny were a nice touch, but now we celebrate the holidays as a family instead of thanking invisible people/animals.
I’m sorry your niece hit that part of life. It’s a little bit of childhood lost.
My kid sis never really bought the whole Santa thing… That one seemed to pass her by, but she sure did like the easter bunny.
My niece and nephew don’t seem to buy the whole santa thing either… but my niece is totally into the Tooth fairy. It’s a fairy, with glitter wings and money… what’s not to like?
my late husband and i were very big on xmas. not so much the easter bunny but we would stay up all night christmas eve wrapping presents and watching crap tv. sam wild get max up at around 5am and they’d both come rocketing down the stairs to open their presents. i miss our christmases. it’s not the same without vinnie now i have to do it all myself and we celebrate christmas on the 1st of december as that was vinnie’s last christmas.
**Hey Jayne…on Christmas eve-after the kids were asleep-I used to be alone wrapping gifts. I would turn on some music, pop some of those pillsbury orange buns in the oven for myself, and get busy. I really enjoyed that night by myself.

This really tells my finding out about Santa, tooth fairy etc…When I was 9, I was getting into fights at school trying to defend Santa. Went home–asked my mom if there really was such a thing as Santa. She looked at me with a little sadness in her face-made me sit down–and told me. I started to cry, and then asked her about Easter, tooth fairy…Bam! all wiped out. That was not a good day!
Ok-i never thought about leprachauns…
I kind of phased out of it. Believing, then maybe not, then the boot prints on the hearth were - no…made by my father. I’m glad I had that time I had magical beliefs, even if it turned out they fooled me.
Ooooohhhhhhh thoust doest not believeth in santa claus ehhhhhhh?!
He’s real, it’s all a metaphor. Him and his elves are a metaphor.
And they are evil, really really evil, look at what they have done for a second.
I guess anyone can be a saint of anything.
Beholdest! A pentagram at the top of the tree! And some lie about the very very frightening and terrible angels that will kill us!
I can still remember how they spoiled me, brainwashed and spoiled me, they lied through their disgusting fangs and threw shiny things at me. And every last cent went into the master’s pockets.
Filth! Disgusting filth is this holiday! Thus speaketh the suicides during this time, and the many many many broken hearts that crieth out, and the children frothing at the mouth for more ■■■■ they don’t need and won’t help them but only makes them stupid!
It’s all a shame and santa is a very real metaphor isn’t he.
what do mean santa claus, the easter bunny, tooth fairy and leprachauns are not real…!?!
not listening
not listening
not listening

Nobody had that talk with me, my dad was still dressing up as santa in my twenties lol, my nephew was a bit scared of him tho maybe the colour or the beard x
